BREAKING NEWS: Help Me Help You Ensures More Residents Receive Comprehensive Lifesaving Services

Updated: Dec 19, 2022

Long Beach, California – Help Me Help You (HMHY) joins the Unite Us network to provide the increasing number of residents in need with quality essential services to improve their health and live their best possible lives.

Unite Us, is a national leading care coordination and outcome tracking platform connecting healthcare and social service providers. This allows HMHY and other providers in the service continuum to receive and send referrals and track every patient’s total health journey while reporting on all tangible outcomes across a full range of services in a centralized ecosystem. This social infrastructure will allow HMHY to measure the impact of services to improve health outcomes for individuals and the community at large. The network of participating government agencies and community care organizations cover services ranging from Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), career skills development, veteran services, housing, and other essential services.

With the ongoing COVID-19 crisis resulting in a national increase of unemployment; economic insecurity; homelessness; poverty; depression; and domestic violence, there has never been a more opportune time to join forces with other charities and government agencies to support our community and nation at large.

Over the past few months, HMHY has witnessed the demand for food pantry groceries triple in numbers, resulting in a new Long Beach Food Pantry Delivery service for those who are unable to access locations due to health reasons; more residents requiring enrollment assistance to access their Social Security Benefits, medical/health insurance benefits; housing and other community services.

Sadly, many residents were not prepared for the adverse economic repercussions of the COVID-19 fallout nor are they now aware of the many free services offered by HMHY to support and protect them. It is our ambition that the Unite Us partnership will help

alleviate this burden in our community. “We are very excited about the partnership with Unite Us to expand our reach and continue to help the most vulnerable in our community. Through this partnership we can also provide a comprehensive solution to client needs by also referring them to other essential services offered by partners in the network", said Zina Washington, Help Me Help You Executive Director.

HMHY’s range of services are listed in the Unite Us network under Benefit Eligibility Screening; Health Insurance Benefits; SNAP/Other Nutrition Benefits, Emergency Food and SSI/SSDI Benefits. Some of the other government agencies and community services organizations in the Unite Us network include US Vets, Goodwill, Catholic Charities, Long Beach Rescue Mission and more.

Founded in 2004, Help Me Help You is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, dedicated to uplifting the lives of homeless and low-income residents by increasing access to food, public benefits, economic security, affordable housing as well as providing Social Security Benefits claims assistance to the public. Located in Long Beach, CA, HMHY also provides services nationally. For more information on HMHY services, visit helpmehelpyou.org/services.
