WHAT IS CALFRESH?
CalFresh is a supplemental food program to help qualifying low-income individuals and families get the food they need to stay healthy. It is California’s version of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formally known as Food Stamps. The CalFresh Benefit provides dollars via the Golden State Advantage EBT debit card to purchase groceries and fresh produce, online and in-store at participating grocery stores (including Albertsons, Vons, Safeway, Walmart, Aldi, and Amazon) and farmers’ markets. Some participating stores offer free home delivery. You can also use your EBT card to purchase seeds and plants to grow your own food of your choice and to receive discounts.
OTHER BENEFITS
Qualifying for a CalFresh EBT debit card means you would also qualify for a number of other beneficial services including:
National School Lunch Program for FREE/reduced prices of nutritious school meals and other services for school children
Health & Wellness Services
Fee Waivers for College Apps, Admissions Tests
Discounted utility services, transportation, and more.
EXTRA DOLLARS WITH AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY ALLOTMENT PAYMENTS
The USDA recognizes there are public health emergency or inflation factors affecting your purchasing power and responds by providing CalFresh recipients with additional Emergency Allotment (EA) dollars to buy groceries. These payments are automatically added to your CalFresh EBT card in the middle of the following month. For example, the November 2022 EA additional payments of $95 will be available on December 18, 2022.
YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR RESTAURANT MEALS OR READY-MADE MEALS
The California Restaurant Meals Program allows eligible homeless, disabled, and elderly (at least 60 years old) CalFresh benefit recipients to use their CalFresh EBT card to purchase hot or prepared food from participating restaurants including Everytable, Wingstop, Subway, Pizza Hut, El Pollo Loco, Fat burger, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and many more. To access this part of the benefit you must meet one of the following conditions:

Glady's was also approved for General Relief payments, and Medicaid, and linked to housing services. "I was unable to enroll in CalFresh alone and wasn't aware of all the other benefits I was entitled to...HMHY has improved my life with access to readymade meals and benefits for a better future.
